Describe the most satisfying meal you’ve ever eaten, in glorious detail.
Ezekiel Buzi:
‘Don’t eat in your dreams’, that’s what they say. ‘If you eat in your dreams, you’ll welcome strange and foreign objects from the world beyond into your physical reality’ But the best food I ever ate in all my life was in my dream (if you can call it that). I was about 29 years old when I started seeing these visions. If you’ll check my book ‘The Book of Ezekiel’, you’ll read about the visions I had – the book is one of the compilations that form the Holy Bible. Anyway, my people were on exile then and It was my 13th year of being in exile with them. My mom was worried about me. She did not want me to bring undue attention to the family. According to her, ‘The people are desperate to hear anything from Yahweh now. If they find that you’re seeing these visions, they’ll take you away from me and you would never live a normal life’ But maybe I was never meant to live a normal life.
The trances caught hold of me anywhere they wanted. And it was during one of those trances that I ate the best food of my life. In the trance, I had felt someone possess me and jerk me up to my feet with so much force. I saw Yahweh again and He spoke to me. He told me of how He wanted to send me to His people, the Israelites. He called them rebellious and obstinate and it was then I started to fear – I thought to myself, ‘the message must not be a good one then’. Then, like He could see my thoughts (because He could), he said, ‘Oh, don’t be afraid Ezekiel. Just open your mouth and eat what I give you’ I looked at His hand and guess what I saw Him hand to me? A Scroll!
In my mind, I thought, ‘So I now have pica in my dreams’ I took the scroll on which words were written and I ate it. I did not know what to expect as I stuffed it in my mouth, but as I slowly chewed it, it warmly melted on my tongue and filled my mouth with in-explainable sweetness. In my book, I could only think of comparing it with unadulterated honey but it really was sweeter and more more amazing than that. It was not the kind of sugar that caused your stomach to run…. It was the kind that awoke your senses to every thing amazing. It filled my stomach to the brim and yet I craved for more. I can assure you that no man has ever tasted sweetness that glorious or flavor that rich. And it was more intense for me because I already was in higher heights! Eating the scroll just made me want to burst at my seams… but it was impossible – I was in the presence of the Most High already. Where was I bursting to?
I may not have done sufficient justice in relaying how awesome the scroll with the words tasted… but just believe me when I say that it was out of this world (as it truly was). I find that I wasn’t the only one who had this kind of experience! See David – in one of his famous music he said, ‘How sweet are your words to my taste! Sweeter than Honey to my mouth!’ See also, Jeremiah who said in his book, ‘When your words came, I ate them. They were my joy and my heart’s delight.’ Also, John in his revelations, ‘I took the little scroll from the angel’s hand and ate it. It tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth…’
So you see that I am not lying. And I think it’s amazing that the world has the whole Bible! We had just little scrolls then and they were turning us mad! I am envious of how much access to sweetness y’all have!
I'd love to hear your thoughts!
